Takodana’s Forest Encounter

Takodana’s Forest Encounter

Following on with The Force Awakens I put together this diorama, the 1st confrontation between Rey and Kylo Ren.  For this scene, I repainted Rey to make her paint scheme movie accurate.

The destruction of Maz Kanata’s castle

The destruction of Maz Kanata’s castle

This project I fancied building a ruin but it was a toss up between doing another SWTOR dio or from The Force Awakens.  I always liked the scene where Kylo Ren walks through the doorway of ruins of Maz Kanatas watering hole.

With this diorama I also repainted Phasma, adding a chrome layer to enhance the look of her armour.  I wanted to get this as close to the film

as possible.

Jedi Ghosts

Jedi Spirits

After completing the last couple of rather large diorama’s, I wanted to do a smaller and more intimate piece while combining technique’s that I had used in the other sets.  Having recently purchased the Jedi Spirits action figure, these were the perfect figures to create this set with.

Been situated in the Ewok village, I had to have a couple of Ewoks in the set.

Jabba’s Rancor Pit

Jabba’s Rancor Pit

I purchased a Rancor and couldn’t resist recreating the scene from Return of Jedi, when Luke Skywalker and a Gammorrean Guard are dropped into the pit and we come face to face with this monster.

SWTOR Sith Temple

SWTOR Sith Temple

After playing Star Wars The Old Republic an awful lot I wanted to build something that drew inspiration from the game.  What else do you start with but a Sith Temple using blue LED’s to give a cold but ominous glow.

Han in Carbonite

Han in Carbonite

I always wanted to create Jabba’s Palace but due to the size of it and the house I live in, it just would not fit.  Instead I built Jabba’s greatest prize, Han in Carbonite.  For my second diorama, I wanted to push myself further than just building boxes and covering them with decals.  With this diorama I used fibre optics within the build.

Death Star

Death Star

While trying to decide where to start in the world of diorama’s, I decided the best place to start would be in the Star War Universe.  With so many possibilities to choose from, I settled on the Death Star from New Hope.  What started as one corridor, quickly exploded into what you see before you.
