Container & Barrels
My animator client asked me to paint a 3D printed cargo container and 4 barrels. He arrived at my house with the pieces, a couple of days later he returned to pick up these beauties which will appear in his next animation.
The containers’ measurements are:
- Length – 18″
- Width – 7″
- Height – 8.25″
Painting the Diorama
The container & barrels were base-coated with ultramarine blue spray, each barrel I painted a white strip across the middle. When they were dry, I applied a black wash in the crevices of the container, while the barrels were rolled in a container of black wash and left to stand to dry.
When the wash had dried, each piece was dry brushed with a lighter blue and then dry brushed again using a chrome paint. For the locks and hinges on the container doors, I have used Games Workshops Leadbelcher paint.
